Mixing Instructions:

Mixing with Water

For optimum results, mix 1 part of colourant with 15 parts of water. You may add a few tablespoons of vinegar if you desire to speed theadherence time. Cover and shake well. Please discard any leftover mixed color. (Once used and left to sit, bacteria may grow.)

Mixing with Alcohol

For optimum results, mix 1 part of colourant with 15 parts of alcohol. You can purchase rubbing alcohol in 16 ounce bottles. Discard 1 ounce of the alcohol and replace it with 1 ounce of
colourant. Cover and shake well. You may store leftover color that is mixed this way. (Bacteria is unable to grow in rubbing alcohol.)

Why use Alcohol?

While the use of alcohol may intimidate vigilant bird owners at first, there are sound reasons to do so:
1. The alcohol will kill many germs and bacteria that may be present on the item being colored.
2. The color will adhere very quickly. A dip will do.
3. The colors will be more vibrant and get into the crevices much better with dipping or brushing.
4. Drying time is significantly decreased lessening the chance that mold will grow on the toy.
5. The alcohol will evaporate completely and cleanly, leaving no residue.
6. Toys can be made in a single day!!!

*Caution:
Exquisite Colourant in it’s original state is safe for human use. ONCE MIXED WITH ALCOHOL, IT IS NO LONGER SAFE FOR LIQUID CONSUMPTION BY HUMANS OR BIRDS!!!

Yellow Alert!!! The yellow colourant is prone to coming out of solution when the bottle is chilled. Please GENTLY WARM the colourant in the bottle to bring it back into solution.
Do NOT OverHeat- The bottle will warp.
